|In between writing books, solving crimes and doing humanitarian work, Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) found time to fall in love and have a baby. The love of her life and the father of her child is Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). He affectionately calls her “Bones”. The baby’s name is Christine Angela Booth.
In the course of the show, the two of them have caught killers, been kidnapped and have escaped several near-death experiences. With such a dangerous job, it’s only natural to get a little protective over the mother of his child, but sometimes Booth can get really controlling.
On top of the relationship issues they are working through privately, they are under the microscope of Dr. Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley). It’s his job to be nosy, though, since he is the psychologist on staff for the FBI. Although painful at times, he has been able to offer Brennan insight into her own behavior, calling attention to something she didn’t see or just being there for the counsel she couldn’t ask for but needed.
Brennan also gets counsel from Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin), the forensic artist for the Jeffersonian. Angela and Brennan have become very close in the time they have worked together. Angela’s father on the show is the famed ZZ Top singer, Billy Gibbons, who plays himself. Angela married Jack Hodgins (T. J. Thyne) after long and confusing relationship. Hodgins is the forensic entomologist for the team but his education makes him valuable in other areas of forensics, as well. He is very rich, which he kept from his co-workers because he didn’t want to be treated any differently. He loves Angela and their little boy, Michael Staccato Vincent Hodgins.
This group of professionals is a mismatched family that seems to mesh and work well.
