Justin Bieber is a Canadian-born singer and songwriter. His genre of music is pop, typically targeted at teenaged girls. For this reason, he’s seen by many as a teenage heartthrob. Originally a YouTuber with a supportive fan base, Bieber was discovered in 2007 when his current manager accidentally clicked on one of his videos, while searching for a different user. Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber became an overnight celebrity, teaming up with singer-songwriter Usher to become an international sensation.
In late 2009, Bieber released his studio EP, titled, My World. He later released a full version of the EP under the title My World 2.0 in 2010, after following commercial success of its original release. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record appear on the Billboard Hot 100. His next two releases—Under the Mistletoe and Believe—each topped the Billboard 200.
In addition to his commercial success as a pop star idol, Bieber also has a successful line of perfumes and colognes. At the time of its release, Someday was one of the most bought celebrity based perfumes of that year, easily surpassing 3 million dollars in less than three weeks. The perfume was made with his large female audience in mind.
The overwhelming success of Bieber’s cologne and perfume line is due to his huge and highly supportive fan base, referred to as Beliebers. Having followed him since his days as a YouTube star, Bieber’s fan base has only grown in size and adoration for the young artist.
When not in the studio recording music or creating amazing perfumes and colognes, Justin spends his time frequenting The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Together, the two of them have engaged in prank phone calls, dressing Bieber up as a security guard, and tricking their fans into thinking they’re making out.
Most recently, Justin Bieber appeared on Ellen’s show with iconic singer Madonna. Despite their lives being left open for the public through the paparazzi, both Justin and Madonna managed to reveal well-kept secrets otherwise hidden from their fans. Topics for discussion included dating a person and their sibling, getting kicked out of bars, forgetting the person’s name they were hooking up with, and engaging in phone sex.
On another episode of the show, Bieber told Ellen of his upcoming roast on Comedy Central, hosted by Kevin Hart. The two talked briefly about how he might be feeling, before Ellen unleashed a Calvin Klein model, who leaped from a hiding place and pranked the young artist. Ellen commented that since she wouldn’t be on the Comedy Central Roast alongside him, she had to get her prank in while she could. Bieber remained in a slightly shaken state while Ellen and the audience laughed at his reaction to the prank.
In a special sneak peak of his upcoming Roast, Justin Bieber was teased about his rise to stardom, jokingly referred to as the Prince Joffrey of pop by Jeff Ross, a former roast master. The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber airs Monday, March 30 on Comedy Central. Tune in to see one of the pop’s most iconic singers roasted at the hands of close friends and fans alike.
